Definition of Core Strenth: The balanced developement of the deep and superfiscial muscles that stabilize, align and move the trunk of the body, especially the abdominals and back muscles.

Why Core Training? When athletes produce the necessary movements in their sports with increased efficiency, their overall performance improves. Greater strength of the core musculature increases the stability of the pelvis and spine and improves body control or balance during athletic movements thus enhancing the efficiency of movement. A stronger core requires less forceful contractions of the peripheral muscles to produce a given amount of power, and injuries are less likely to occur during training and competition. Improving core strength will help you perform everyday tasks with ease. Whether you are a Housewife performing daily chores such as laundry and gardening or an aspiring High School Athlete with focus on gaining an edge over your opponent you can benefit from Core Training.

Celeste is a Functional Movement Screen Certified Specialist. This movement screen is an invaluable tool in identifiing problems of mobility and stability and most especially any significant left-right imbalances in an athlete. Then prescibing simple daily exercises to correct these movement problems. Rather than putting performance on top of dysfunction and allowing the body to make compensations which will rob the body of efficiency and very likely be the cause of future non impact injuries.
